Freshmen

Justin Alvarez, from Cortland Ill., is interested in sports management. He has four siblings, which has kept his parents from being able to save as much for college as they would have liked. He was working to save for himself, but a broken leg has kept him from working for the last six months ($2,500).
Charlotte Ash, from Denver, Ind., is interested in liberal studies and Biblical studies. She is from a single-income family that cannot afford to pay for an FC tuition ($1,170).
Bradley Collins, from Bradenton, Fla., is interested in sports management. His father recently lost his job and has had to take a job paying significantly less ($4,315).
Solomon Crotteau, from Racine, Wis., is interested in theology and sports. His older brother recently came to FC, and is still in college ($2,300).
Shawn Dadd, from Holly Hill, Fla., is interested in sociology and psychology. His mother is the sole financial supporter of their family of five ($3,500).
Emily Ezell, from Pace, Fla., is interested in liberal studies. She is no longer a dependent of her parents. The GI Bill is helping pay for her college, but does not cover the full cost of FC ($4,300).
Britnee Fuentes, from Brentwood, Calif., is interested in biology. Her mother is the sole provider for her family and does not make enough money to support the family and pay for Britnee’s tuition ($3,000).
Nicola Garbutt, from Winter Sprints, Fla., is interested in nursing. Her mother is the sole provider for her family and does not make enough money to support the family and pay for Nicola’s tuition ($3,975).
Hanna Gibson, from Oregon City, Ore., is interested in nursing. Hanna comes from a family of ten with four currently in college, two of whom recently came to FC ($1,900).
Sarah Gust, from Shakopee, Minn., is interested in photography and design. Her mother is recovering from health problems, and her father is unable to help her with her education ($2,350).
Amber Hoffman, from Ellenton, Fla., is interested in Biblical studies. Her mother is a sole provider, and her father is not helping her with her college expenses ($2,450).
Korey Hunt, from Bradenton, Fla., is interested in the business program. His parents are divorced, have debt, and are unable to pay for his education ($1,700).
Heidi Johnson, from Homosassa, Fla., is interested in psychology and business. Her father’s employer recently transferred him to St. Louis. The rest of the family is still living in Florida, which has resulted in increased housing expenses ($500).
Aimee Jones, from Batesville, Ark., is interested in business and photography. She is the second of seven children, three of whom are in college this year, while her father is a full-time preacher ($4,350).
Geoffrey Knudtson, from Athens Ala., is interested in business and accounting. His father has terminal brain cancer, and his mom cannot work due to caring for him full time. His sister will also be at Florida College, entering her third year here ($2,500).
Savannah Millwee, from Bakersfield, Calif., is currently undecided. Her parents support a family of six plus her grandmother on a single income. In addition, her older sister will also be in college this year ($300).
Eric Parker, from Lecanto, Fla., is interested in athletics. His father has been ill for most of his life, and his mother has been his caretaker and unable to work much ($2,000).
Carlos Peralta, from Brooklyn, N.Y., is interested in computer science and engineering. His mother is the sole provider for the family and does not make enough to pay for her cost of living and Carlos’ tuition ($2,000).
Christopher Pineda, from Tampa, Fla., is interested in biology. His mother is a single parent and his step-father died last year, which left the family with an additional financial burden ($2,000).

Toni Stinnie, from Tampa, Fla., is interested in nursing. Her single mother is supporting a family of six, and doing what she can to help Toni, but is unable to completely pay for her education ($2,500).
Jordan Walker, from St. Petersburg, Fla., is interested in computers and graphic design. His mom is currently out of work and unable to help with his college expenses ($850).
Jeremy Young, from Griffin, Ga., is interested in business administration. He is the first person in his family to come to FC. His parents do not support his decision to attend, and are not helping him financially ($1,700).

Sophomores

Jacob Boser, from Plainfield, Ind., is planning to major in criminal justice. He is the oldest of four children and his mother is also taking college classes. His father’s annual income has decreased due to the decline in the housing market ($2,000).
Eric Brodzinski, from Noblesville, Ind., is planning to major in advertisement marketing. His mom can only work part-time due to her health, and whether or not his dad will help is questionable ($2,250).
Chantel Caines, from Riverview, Fla., plans to major in psychology. In 2003, her grandmother (also her legal guardian) passed away. She is currently an independent, responsible for all of her expenses ($3,800).
Jordan Castleberry, from Winter Haven, Fla., is planning to major in mechanical engineering. He is working two jobs this summer to help save for his college expenses, but will need additional help ($2,000).
Clint Davis, from Auburn, Ala., is planning to major in electrical engineering. Clint is one of three children in his family who are currently enrolled in college ($1,000).
Craig Davis, from Auburn, Ala., plans to major in business. His twin brother is also enrolled at Florida College, and an older brother recently graduated from FC. Three FC tuitions are more than the family can pay at once ($1,500).
Angela Dimas, from Tampa, Fla., is planning to major in biochemistry. Her parents do not make enough money to pay for an FC tuition without additional assistance ($2,322).
Kaitlyn Drew, from Lombard, Ill., is interested in psychology and law. Her father owns his own business, and the recent sagging economy has made his income less steady than the family would like ($3,600).
Caitlin Frye, from Trilby, Fla., is interested in history. Both of her parents have medical conditions that increase the family’s financial burden. In addition, the company for which they work is slowing down and their pay is decreasing with it ($1,250).
Brittany Grant, from Blairsville, Ga., is interested in business. Her father is a disabled veteran, who works, but not full time. Also, her older brother is currently attending Florida College ($1,250).
Catherine Kemper, from Bigelow, Ark., plans to major in nursing. Her father is self-employed and her parents are unable to help her with college expenses ($1,250).
Jesse Lester, from Land o’ Lakes, Fla., is interested in math and business. He is one of two currently enrolled at FC, with his brother coming next year ($1,350).
Sherry Lively, from Thonotosassa, Fla., is planning to major in nursing. Her father is a single parent, and works as a mechanic with a low income ($2,240).
James McDorman, from Vail, Ariz., is planning to major in mechanical engineering. His parents do not make enough money to pay for James’ FC tuition on their own ($1,350).
Ricky Negron, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is planning to major in liberal studies or business. His family’s cost of living expenses do not allow them to help much with his college education ($1,800).
Pedro Rodriguez, from Tampa, Fla., is planning to major in elementary education. He has decided to come back to school at 44 to get his degree and become a school teacher. His hourly-rate job will not cover his tuition and he loses work hours while in class ($1,300).
Ismaelena Serrano, from Escondido, Calif., is interested in music education and performance. Her mother is a single parent and receives no financial support from her father ($2,500).
Jessica Springer, from Hammond, Ind., plans to major in business administration. Her father is a brain tumor survivor, who, because of the surgeries and effects of the tumor, is currently unable to work ($2,000).
Ben Stalder, from Lincoln, Neb., is planning to major in business. He is one of four in his family currently enrolled in college, including his brother who is also at FC ($1,075).
Dan Stalder, from Lincoln, Neb., is planning to major in engineering. He is one of four in his family currently enrolled in college, including his brother who is also at FC ($2,975).
James Thigpen, from Killen, Ala., plans to major in English. His father owns a small business, which has recently faced some financial difficulties ($2,000).
Melissa Thomas, from Bloomington, Ind., plans to major in Biblical studies. Her brother is also a student at Florida College, increasing the financial burden on the family, which was already heavy due to an extended hospital stay by her mom ($1,000).
Cindy Watson, from Trenton, Fla., is interested in social work. Her father is a self-employed farmer and her mother is a teacher’s aide, and they are unable to offer much financial assistance to her college education ($2,500).

Juniors

Nadhege Augustin, from Lauderhill, Fla., is majoring in business. Her mother is a sole provider with two children in college. She cannot pay for Nadhege’s tuition without assistance ($2,250).
David Barker, from Escondido, Calif., is majoring in business administration. His brother is severely mentally and physically handicapped, which is a full-time job for his mother and gives the family a lot of medical expenses ($1,500).
Chris Benson, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is majoring in Biblical studies. His father passed away in 2006 leaving his mother to support herself and with large medical bills. Chris has recently gotten married and now has to support himself and his wife ($2,500).
Sarah Benson, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is majoring in elementary education. She and her new-husband are both attending FC full time, leaving little time for gainful employment ($2,000).
Michael Claxton, from Garner, N.C., is majoring in liberal studies. His father has been unable to work for a few years and is receiving disability benefits, but that is not sufficient to pay for his FC tuition ($760).
Rebecca Herboldt, from Tampa, Fla., is majoring in business administration. She has recently moved out of her home and has taken on the responsibility of paying for college on her own ($1,470).
Daniel Lankford, from Dickson, Tenn., is a music major. He is paying for his last two years of college on his own, as his parents have turned their focus to saving for his siblings ($1,250).
Allison O’Neal, from Morris, Ala., is majoring in business. Because of the poor housing market, their parents recent move to Birmingham left them paying two mortgages for a year, while also providing for her grandparents ($250).
Stephanie Panza, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is majoring in elementary education. During her first year at FC, her step-father died six months after her mom and he had an unexpected baby. They are still paying the medical bills from that year ($2,000).
Katee Puterbaugh, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is majoring in business. Her father was recently married, which has changed the family’s financial situation. Katee is now paying for all of her expenses ($750).
Ashley Ray, from Blackshear, Ga., is majoring in liberal studies. Her parents’ combined income is insufficient to pay for an FC education ($2,025).
La’Dawn Robinson, from Tampa, Fla., is interested in biblical studies and education. She has a home and child and recently cared for her uncle until his death. She will be paying for her education by herself, but will have to work less to go to school ($2,500).
Samantha Stark, from Tampa, Fla., is a business major. Samantha has been financially independent for the past two years and working to save for college, but cannot make it on her own ($2,000).
David Waugh, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is majoring in business administration. His father recently changed jobs, which has brought a financial hardship on the family ($2,250).

Seniors

Caleb Adkisson, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is a senior in the Biblical studies program. He got married after his sophomore year at FC; he and his wife were both students last year. He preaches part time while in school ($1,870).
Kelsie Foreman, from Clute, Texas, is a senior in the elementary education program. Her twin sister is also currently in college, and a younger sister is attending private school. Both parents work, but don’t make enough to pay for all three daughters’ school ($350).
Matthew Grant, from Blairsville, Ga., is a senior in the elementary education program. His father is a disabled veteran, who cannot work full time, and his younger sister is also attending Florida College ($250).
Daniel Martin, from Port Richey, Fla., is a senior in the Biblical studies program. His brother, also in college this year, needs a costly medical procedure and the family also cares for Daniel’s niece plus two more of their own children ($1,450).
Tiffanie Piazza, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is a senior in the elementary education program. Her internship keeps her from being able to work, and her husband is also a part-time student ($2,500).
Jared Saltz, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is a senior, double-majoring in Biblical and liberal studies. He is recently married and working all the hours he can to help support his new family around a full time load of courses ($2,250).
Jacquelyn Tanoukhi, from Temple Terrace, Fla., is a senior in the business administration program. Her parents are both unable to work, so she has taken on the full responsibility of paying for her education ($2,500).

International

Catalina Arango, from Bogota, Colombia, is planning to major in mass communications. As an international student, the amount of financial aid available to her is extremely limited. Also, her sister is currently attending college in Colombia, adding to the family’s financial strain ($2,696).
Monica Campos, from Ibagué, Colombia, is planning to major in finance. As an international student, she is unable to receive American financial aid, and her family is unable to pay for her FC tuition alone ($8,932).
Lorenzo Cum, from Talmassons, Italy, is a senior in the liberal studies program. As an international student, he is not able to receive American financial aid, and his parents do not make enough money to pay for his FC education alone ($500).
Curtis Frost, from Newmarket, Ontario, is interested in liberal studies. As an international student, he is not eligible for any federal financial aid. His family recently moved, which increased their cost of living expenses ($9,645).
Aaron Lianga, from Vancouver, British Columbia, is interested in mechanics. His brother is also attending college after two years at FC ($9,432).
Edilawit, Tegene, from Addis Ababa, Eithiopia, is majoring in business. She is from the third poorest nation in the world, and is unable to receive American financial aid or student loans ($6,541).
Rachel Thrower, from St. Catharines, Ontario, is interested in music and languages. She is one of three who will be enrolled in college this year, and as an international student does not qualify for U.S. financial aid ($9,152).
