Labor Camp Kicks Off
The fourth annual Florida College Labor Camp kicked off on Sunday, June 15, and lasts through Friday, June 20. Craig and Tami Bean (‘80, ‘79) continue their post as camp directors, with assistance from public relations director Ralph Walker and several other FC administration and staff. This year’s campers vary widely, and include current FC students, FC staff, non-alumni, and an alumnus from 1957. They have traveled from as close as Temple Terrace and as far as Saudi Arabia to participate in the camp. There are roughly 40 people working during the day, and a record 27 people staying on campus overnight. The week’s duties include: cleaning out locker rooms and other parts of the gym, painting and interior work in the new business building (the South Annex), power-washing, weeding, repairing broken fixtures, and a lot of general cleanup. The theme for the week’s Bible studies and devotions is “Trusting God” – carrying the idea of not just believing in God, but believing Him and His promises. Check back for more information and stories about this unique camp throughout the week.
