Students and Teachers Gather for Yearbook Signing Party

On Wednesday, April 30, the night before graduation, Florida College students and a few brave faculty members congregated in Sutton lobby to sign yearbooks.

A timeless tradition, yearbook signing parties give students a chance to express sentiment, wax eloquent, or just jot down a few memories they share with their friends.

This year’s party boasted the presence of Dr. Brian Crispell, Mr. Tommy Peeler, Dr. Thaxter Dickey, and Dr. and Mrs. Barlar. Mr. Peeler commented that he loves the event “because it’s the end of the year and everyone has an upbeat spirit. There’s just a deep sense of unity, cohesiveness, and concern for one another.”

Cookies and punch were the refreshments that fueled the party into the wee hours (it ended at 2:00 AM). Mr. Peeler, who actually stayed until the very end, said he did not regret doing so.

“I just love that time,” he smiled. “It was worth incurring my wife’s wrath to go.”
