Banquet a Dream Come True

The 2009 Spring Banquet was held at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in Orlando, and the Disney touch could be seen in everything from the butter on the table to the fireworks in the sky.

Attendees were greeted at the entrance of the hotel by Mickey Mouse and Cinderella. The theme this year was “Dream,” and the banquet room was appropriately accented by images of clouds on the walls and a layer of mist on the floor.

Dr. Brian Crispell emceed the event with his usual professorial wit, and Bob Andrews ’67 gave the after dinner speech to an attentive audience. Imaginatively untraditional entertainment was provided by magician Brian Staron.

It marked the final banquet as president for C.G. “Colly” Caldwell ’63, who was presented with a series of Florida College-themed drawings by current students.
