Jenny Clark Wins Outstanding Teacher Award in North Texas
Florida College alumna Jenny (Camp) Clark ’06 is the winner of the prestigious Bayard H. Friedman Hero Award for 2009. The award, presented annually by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and the Score a Goal in the Classroom School Incentive Program, is given to the most outstanding music teacher in North Texas. The award was presented Saturday, April 18 during the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra performance at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas. The press release for the award presentation lauded Clark for showing an “incredible, near-genius work ethic. Her expertise, as well as her joy for expressing her love for a life through music, has been encouraging and uplifting for the entire school campus.” Clark teaches at the Castleberry Elementary School in Fort Worth. Dr. H.E. “Buddy” Payne ’65, incoming Florida College president, was at the performance to personally congratulate Clark. “I believe it is confirmation of what we see in our Florida College music graduates every day,” Payne said. “Not only are they capable musicians, but their time at Florida College has helped them to develop a spirituality, strength, courage, moral fiber, and love for others that shines through in the classroom.” |
