Mr. and Miss Royal Palm Awarded

Lorenzo Cum, of Talmassons, Italy, and Haley Hegeman, of Colorado Springs, Colo., were awarded the Mr. and Miss Royal Palm awards, respectively, during the chapel assembly on Monday, April 20.

Every year the Royal Palm yearbook bestows the honor on two upper division students who exemplify the “academic excellence, social kindnesses, and moral example” that is desired in upper division students at Florida College.

Cum is a native Italian. He is graduating from the business administration program and will be preaching in Houston for the next year. He hopes to eventually return to Italy to preach, as well as work in the aeronautics industry.

Hegeman was active in high school band in Colorado, as well as in raising llamas and alpacas. She will graduate from the music program with a major in flute performance, and plans on a career in teaching music.

Yearbook editor Christine Hubartt, Indianapolis, Ind., joined President C.G. “Colly” Caldwell” ’63 onstage to present the awards.
