Florida College Announces the Opening of the Payne Amphitheater: A Reimagined Riverfront Tradition
Temple Terrace, Fla. – [August 26th, 2025] – Florida College is proud to announce the opening of the Payne Amphitheater, a new riverfront venue that blends cherished tradition with modern innovation.

The Payne Amphitheater, named in honor of former President Dr. H.E. “Buddy” Payne and his wife Marilyn, will carry those traditions forward, revitalized for a new era of students and community members. Featuring tiered stadium seating, shaded lawn areas, and a state-of-the-art stage with modern lighting and sound, the amphitheater will serve as a centerpiece for campus gatherings, performances, and special events.
