Admissions Requirements

  1. Submit online application admission form with the $50 application fee.
  2. Two academic/character references are required for admission. The names and contact information for these references are part of the application.
  1. Application essay. The applicant describes their relationship with God and how they see Florida College’s academic and spiritual environment as a good match for their goals. The required essay should be 1-2 pages, double-spaced, written in English, completed without AI assistance. AI generated essays are not accepted and if submitted, may cause the applicant to be denied. Essays must be submitted via email to international@floridacollege.edu. The applicant may be asked to discuss this essay with an Admissions representative.
    • In addition to assessing the applicant’s English proficiency, this essay allows the applicant to show that they understand Florida College’s strong emphasis on spiritual life and whether our unique environment aligns with their personal beliefs and expectations. Florida College is more than just a place to earn a degree—it is a Christ-centered community where faith is woven into every part of campus life.
    • Florida College wants every student to thrive spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. This essay serves to ensure that applicants understand who we are as an institution and truly desire to be part of this faith-driven community.
    • Applicants should consider the following as they write their essay:
    • The opportunity to have Christian professors who teach from a Biblical perspective.
    • The experience of living among other young Christians and participating in dorm devotionals.
    • The value in taking required Bible classes as part of an academic program.
    • The willingness to uphold the code of conduct, which sets clear guidelines for behavior and activities in order to reflect the college’s commitment to high moral and ethical standards.
  1. Academic records. All Foreign Transcripts – official high school and/or college transcripts must be evaluated by one of the National Association of Credential Evaluations Service, Inc. (NACES http://www.naces.org/ ) agencies for verification, translation, and evaluation. Post-secondary transcripts/records must include a course-by-course evaluation.  The course-by-course evaluation must be submitted along with certified copies of the original official record/transcript.  The applicant must pay necessary evaluation fees.  For completed coursework in the United States, request official transcripts for all high school work and any college work already completed, to be sent directly to FC Admissions. Applicants enrolled in course work at the time they apply must also request final transcripts when that course work has been completed.

    • Athletes are encouraged to consider InCred ( Home  · Custom Portal) for their evaluation because they will need to go through InCred for athletic eligibility.
    • Other options include, but are not limited to: Educational Credential Evaluators  and World Education Services

5. Proof of ability to complete college level coursework, based on standardized exam scores from either the ACT, SAT, or CLT. The applicant should request that an official    report of test results be sent directly to FC Admissions. (Students with sufficient college credit are not required to submit test scores.) Minimum scores are as follows:

    • ACT: Scores of at least 17 (English), 18 (reading), and 21 (mathematics)
    • SAT: Scores of at least 520 on the mathematics section and 450 on the evidence-based reading and writing section
    • CLT: 41 on the combined verbal reasoning and grammar writing scores and a 19 on mathematics

6. Proof of English proficiency is required for all students whose first language is not English. Applicants can submit an official score report, indicating they met the  minimum score for admission.  Test options are:

    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Internet-based (IBT)  minimum score 79
    • Duolingo English Test (DET) minimum score110
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score 6.5
    • Or applicants may submit official college credit for English
    • Or an official US school transcript that indicates they have taken at least 2 years of school in the United States at a primarily English-speaking school with a minimum grade point average of 2.25.
    • Or English Language Studies (ELS) minimum level 112.

7. Signed copy of the Code of Conduct, agreeing to abide by the rules of behavior determined by the college.

Additional Requirements

8. Financial documentation showing ability to pay for the student’s entire first year of school is required before the student’s I-20 can be completed.
9. Copy of the student’s passport name page to verify exact wording of the official passport name for use on I-20.
10. Housing form and a non-refundable housing fee of $150 for on-campus students (commuter students do not pay a housing fee, but MUST complete the form).
11. Properly complete online medical forms. Note: All international students enrolling in Florida College must submit proof of current health insurance coverage in the US.
12. Payment Agreement – indicating student’s commitment to ensure the charges they incur are paid.
