Andrew Hall (’22) Lives Out Fiat Lux

When Andrew Hall (’22) graduated from Florida College with a degree in business administration, he expected to use it in the business world. Instead, his path led him somewhere unexpected but deeply fulfilling. Today, he serves as an evangelist for the Kirkwood church of Christ in St. Louis, Missouri, where his greatest joy is helping others see Jesus in Scripture and learn how to become like Him in every way.
Looking back, Andrew says the daily Bible classes at Florida College played a big part in shaping this direction.
“Even though I graduated with business administration, those [Bible] classes and teachers were a major reason I ended up preaching and teaching after graduating,” he reflects.
The steady rhythm of opening God’s Word each day gave him both the knowledge and encouragement he now shares with others.
Along with the influence of his classes, Andrew also continues to value the experiences he had outside the classroom. Running with the cross-country team each fall gave him both discipline and friendships that have lasted well beyond graduation.
“Some of my closest friends and favorite memories came from the time I spent with the cross-country team every fall,” he shares.
To this day, he still loves running and often meets up with former teammates for races, a reminder of how Florida College shaped more than just his studies.
Andrew says the words on the Florida College seal, Fiat Lux (“Let there be light”), are a fitting summary of what his time at FC continues to mean to him.
“God began His work with illumination, and so our job as well, if we are imaging and working with Him, is to illuminate the world,” he shares. “God’s light is needed in every life, in every job, in every place, and in every time. I’m glad shining His light is front and center to the mission of the school I went to, and I try to make it central to my life every day.”
From his days in the classroom and on the trails of Temple Terrace to the pulpit in St. Louis, Andrew’s journey shows how Florida College prepares students not just for careers, but for a life devoted to faith, service, and shining God’s light wherever He leads.
