FC Alum Forging a Path in Entrepreneurship

Forrest Crim (’13), co-founder of River City Printing, is making a lasting imprint on the Florida College community through his entrepreneurship and deep-rooted connection to the College.
A Tampa native, Crim was destined to be a Falcon.
“I grew up within a mile of FC, and my mom worked on campus,” he remembered. “All my friends were going so there was never a question of where I’d attend college.”
Enrolled as a business major and driven by a love for athletics, Crim played basketball during his first two years before transitioning to the role of Assistant Volleyball Coach in his junior year. That shift not only gave him valuable coaching experience, but also introduced him to his future wife, Camille Cline (’15). The two married in 2013 and eventually put down roots in Camille’s home state of Indiana.
Crim began his professional journey in insurance sales, coaching volleyball at a local high school in his spare time. But what started as a side hustle to support the team financially soon became the foundation for something much bigger.
“I was an entrepreneur and always wanted to do something sports related, so I started printing as a side gig to save our volleyball program some money,” said Crim, who partnered with local soccer coach Kyle Bipes to launch River City Printing in 2019.
What began as a late-night side gig out of a small insurance office with a $150 heat press has since evolved into a full-scale operation. Today, River City Printing occupies a 3,000-square-foot warehouse housing industrial machinery, rows of folded shirts, and stacks of boxes prepped for shipment.
By 2024, Crim had taken on the role of River City Printing’s first full-time employee, marking a major milestone for the growing company. The business now employs two full-time and 11 part-time staff members—including FC marketing intern Leah Johnson—and produces over 2,000 items a day through screen printing and embroidery. Their clientele spans high-profile names in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) space, including NCAA coaches and athletes, as well as professionals in the NBA and NFL.
Despite its rapid growth, River City Printing stays closely tied to Crim’s roots. The company serves the Florida College Bookstore and supplies merchandise for various clubs and camps, including Florida College Florida Camp, where Crim was a camper and has now served as a counselor for 15 years.
“Our clients used to be all sports related, but now we have a lot of corporate accounts including several Christian run businesses,” he explained.
Crim credits much of his company’s organic success to the relationships he formed at Florida College. “It’s amazing how small the world is when you’re connected through FC, and I learned that especially quickly with my business,” he said. “I’ve done zero paid marketing, but it’s continued to grow organically thanks to word-of-mouth and social media.”
Now a father of four, Crim hopes his children will one day carry on the family’s FC legacy.
“I tell kids, you don’t want to miss out on the friendships and bonds and impact I’ve experienced,” he said. “Florida College made a huge impact on where I am now and continues to change my life. It’s neat to see how it all connects.”
