Florida College Mourns the Loss of Beloved Business Professor Lee Quinn
September 9, 2024
It is with profound sadness that Florida College announces the unexpected passing of Professor Lee Quinn, a highly respected and cherished member of the business department faculty. Professor Quinn passed away suddenly on September 6th, leaving the entire Florida College community in deep mourning.
A prayer service in Professor Quinn’s memory was held on Florida College’s campus on Saturday morning, along with a chapel service on Monday, linked here, dedicated to honoring his life and contributions.
“He not only poured into our students his practical wisdom about Business and Finance,” recalls President John Weaver, “but he also opened his heart and home to them, forming them spiritually by sharing Christ’s generous love. We will miss Lee terribly, but his and Wendy’s impact on our FC community endures.”
In this time of grief, the college is providing counseling services and support for students, faculty, and staff affected by this tragic loss. The college encourages anyone struggling with this news to seek out these resources and come together as a community to support one another.
The funeral services will be held at the Temple Terrace Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30am, with funeral service at 11:30.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Lee Quinn Endowed Scholarship Fund at Florida College, supporting scholarships for business students. Contributions may be made by mail to Florida College, 119 N Glen Arven Ave, Temple Terrace, FL 33617, or online at https://floridacollege.edu/give/make-a-gift/.

Now, having finished his earthly race, I know he’s cheering us on from the finish line, reminding us, ‘You got this.’”-M.S.
