Pursuing Knowledge with Purpose: 2024–2025 Academic Awards

May 6, 2025 | 2 min read

At Florida College, learning is about more than academics—it’s about purpose. This spring, 24 students received Academic Awards, with faculty selecting one outstanding student from each academic program. These recipients were recognized not only for their academic strength, but also for their commitment to using education in pursuit of something greater.

The Academic Awards recognize students who have demonstrated excellence in communication, critical thinking, and a love for their discipline. But this honor is about more than strong academic performance, it’s about pursuing knowledge with a deeper purpose and a higher calling. These students understand that their education is not just for personal achievement, but for the glory of God.

As Colossians 3:23–24 reminds us, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” These recipients have embraced that truth. Their commitment to their studies reflects the heart of Florida College’s mission: Following Christ. They have not studied merely to earn a good GPA—they’ve studied to grow in wisdom, to serve others, and to live lives that honor their Creator.

These students remind us that meaningful scholarship is not just measured by intellect, but by intention, and that true success begins with a heart devoted to the Lord.
