Step 1 of 4
The James R. Cope Adopt Program was designed to match generous donors with students who have a financial need. By working together, we can ease the financial obligations that all students face when investing in their education.
This application has multiple parts and your application is not complete until you finish each part (the final section is optional). Application requirements include:
*Failure to complete required letters and work hours by assigned deadlines will result in losing your adopt scholarship for the following semester.
On this application, you must provide at least four new names, addresses and contact information of friends who may be willing to support you through the Adopt program. These should not be people you listed on your application from last year. You then have the option to list a total of eight family members.
Note: This entire application must be fully completed to receive funds from the Adopt program.
You are required to submit a typed personal letter to potential adopters. Check for spelling and grammar. Make sure your letter is addressed to “Dear Potential Adopter.”
Please explain (1) why you wish to attend or return to Florida College, (2) what special circumstances have caused you to need the Adopt program, and (3) ways you and your family are helping with your educational expenses. Put this in paragraph form. Have your parent or guardian proofread your letter to give you help and feedback. If you still need help, please contact the development office for assistance at 813.988.5131 x112.
Remember your letter and information will be sent out to the list of names you provide to us and may, if needed, be revealed to a larger audience whom the college believes may be interested in helping you. Be cautious about any confidential information that you or your family may not want shared with others. Any questions should be directed to the development office.
Your application cannot be accepted or processed without this letter. We thank you in advance for taking it seriously.
