Mathematics Education

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education prepares our graduates to share their passion for teaching math to teenagers in middle and high school. Upon graduation, this degree prepares students to apply for state certification and begin seeking teaching opportunities for this in-demand position.

Students will experience and study foundational teaching skills while growing in their knowledge of mathematics. Each will receive hands-on experience prior to graduation in an internship.

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education at Florida College prepares students to teach math confidently and effectively in grades 6-12. Combining a strong foundation in advanced mathematics with practical teaching experience, the program equips future educators with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to thrive in today’s classrooms. Students graduate ready to apply for Florida state teaching certification and begin careers in one of the nation’s most in-demand subject areas.

Through a blend of coursework and hands-on learning, students will explore how to teach mathematical concepts, manage classrooms efficiently, and support diverse learners, all from a faith-based perspective that emphasizes character and service.
