ACADEMIC MERIT-BASED AWARDS FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN

Florida College stands out for offering scholarships to Florida students – and students from around the country and internationally – who are drawn to a Christ-centered education grounded in biblical principles.

Whether you’re looking for private school scholarships in Florida, or scholarships based on academics or extra-curriculars, athletics scholarships, art and music scholarships, or recognition for your leadership and service, we encourage you to review our many scholarship opportunities. Academic scholarships (also known as “merit scholarships”) are determined by your GPA and ACT/SAT/CLT test scores.

National Merit: Rewards National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist students recognized nationally for academic excellence through the National Merit program.
Annual Award Amount: Full tuition

Emeritus Scholars: Awarded to students with a GPA of 4.00 or higher and near-perfect test scores (ACT 35–36, SAT 1500–1600, or CLT 107–120), this is one of the highest academic honors at Florida College.
Annual Award Amount: $11,000

Chancellor Scholars: Recognizes students with a GPA of 4.00 or higher and strong test scores (ACT 33–34, SAT 1440–1490, or CLT 100–106), reflecting leadership and academic excellence.
Annual Award Amount: $8,800

Trustees Scholars: This award goes to students with a GPA of 3.65 and high test scores (ACT 32, SAT 1420–1430, or CLT 97–99), recognizing their academic achievement and commitment to excellence.
Annual Award Amount: $6,600

Provost Scholars: Honors students with a GPA of 3.55 and competitive test scores (ACT 30–31, SAT 1360–1410, or CLT 92–96) who show potential for continued academic success.
Annual Award Amount: $4,400

Chair Scholars: Given to students with a GPA of 3.40 and solid test scores (ACT 27–29, SAT 1260–1350, or CLT 84–91), this scholarship supports well-rounded achievers.
Annual Award Amount: $3,300

Founder Scholars: Designed for students with a GPA of 3.00 and reasonable test scores (ACT 23–26, SAT 1130–1250, or CLT 74–83), this scholarship helps make college more accessible.
Annual Award Amount: $2,200

Top Scholar: This additional award celebrates valedictorians and salutatorians for achieving the highest honors in their graduating class.
Annual Award Amount: $1,000 additional

NOTES:

  • Each scholarship recipient must meet all academic admission requirements. All scholarships are forfeited if the student is placed on academic or disciplinary probation.
  • SAT represents the total Evidence-based Reading and Writing score and the Math Section score combined. ACT represents the composite score of all main sections of the exam. Florida College does not use the essay portion of the SAT or ACT for scholarship eligibility.
  • If a high school student has earned 24+ credit hours of college dual-enrollment transfer credit with the accompanying GPA, the student may be eligible for scholarship as a “transfer student.” Determination will be made by the Admissions Department.
  • If a student has graduated from high school and has no college credit, the academic scholarship will be based upon high school academic work and test scores.

Provost Scholars (Transfer): Awarded to transfer students with strong college academic records, a GPA of 3.55 or higher, and 30 or more completed credit hours.
Annual Award Amount*: $4,400

Chair Scholars (Transfer): Designed for students who have completed 24+ credit hours and meet GPA requirements of 3.4-3.54.
Annual Award Amount*: $3,300

Founder Scholars (Transfer): Supports transfer students who have completed 24+ credit hours with a GPA of 3.00-3.39.
Annual Award Amount*: $2,200

NOTES:

  • Transfer Students:
    • A part-time college student may be eligible for an academic scholarship if their transfer credit spans more than two semesters but is equal to 12+ hours with appropriate GPA.
    • College credit hours must be from actual college course work. Credit from AP/CLEP/IB does not count toward hours for academic scholarship.
  • *Each scholarship is divided between two semesters equally. Each scholarship recipient must meet all academic admission
    requirements. All scholarships are forfeited if the student is placed on academic or disciplinary probation.

DEPARTMENTAL AWARDS

Are you looking for private school scholarships in Florida that recognize your talent and dedication to your art? You may qualify for a departmental scholarship. Band, music, voice, chorus, and string ensemble are all available.

Athletic Scholarship Information

VARSITY ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Interested in playing a sport at the collegiate level? Florida College offers athletic scholarships to student-athletes who demonstrate talent, dedication, and leadership both on and off the field. These scholarships are awarded through the recruitment process and vary by sport, skill level, and team needs.

Our teams compete in the NAIA, and scholarships are available for men’s and women’s sports, including basketball, soccer, cross country, and volleyball. Student-athletes are expected to uphold academic and character standards while contributing to team success. Scholarship amounts may vary each year and are determined by the coaching staff in coordination with the Financial Aid office.

Outside Scholarships

  • Outside scholarships come from private sources. For example, a scholarship from your local rotary club would be an outside scholarship. You may choose to use the internet to search for outside scholarships. Keep in mind that smaller scholarships and those that require essays tend to have fewer applicants, which may increase your chances of being awarded one of these scholarships.
  • Consult your high school guidance counselor regarding possible scholarships that you may qualify for. Your local community may be the most beneficial place to search for outside scholarships. Local community and civic organizations (like American Legion, Boys & Girls Clubs, 4-H Clubs, etc.) may offer scholarships. Also, talk with your employer and your parents’ employers to see what scholarship opportunities they may have.
  • Check general scholarships early. Research general scholarships as early as your freshman year in high school​. There is a lot of money out there; you just have to find it. You may be eligible for scholarships close to home or those based on race, nationality, or special skills. Look into these opportunities at the local library and online, and talk with your high school guidance counselor.
