Need-Based Aid

Need-based aid is financial assistance awarded based on a student’s demonstrated financial need, helping make college more affordable for families whose resources may not fully cover the cost of attendance.

JAMES R. COPE ADOPT PROGRAM

The Adopt Program is about people helping people. The program matches deserving students with donors who are interested in helping students attend Florida College. The students selected are informed of their “adoption” and keep the donor informed of their progress during the year. Students must meet the criteria below in order to qualify for this scholarship:

  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.0 on a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.*
  • Write thank you letters to donors, due by the deadline.
  • Attend any meetings assigned by the Adopt Coordinator.

*A student with a GPA of less than 2.0 will be put on a one semester probation. Failure to raise grades to the minimum after that semester will result in a loss of all funding.

The deadline to be considered for the Adopt Program is August 15.
